- Whiplash Injury: Rapid acceleration and deceleration, often from car accidents, can cause whiplash, resulting in acute pain.
- Cervical Disc Injury: A herniated or bulging disc in the neck can cause sharp pain, especially if it compresses nearby nerves.
- Poor Posture: Awkward positions, such as leaning over a desk or looking down at a phone, can trigger sudden pain.
- Trauma or Injury: Falls, sports injuries, or accidents can lead to acute neck pain due to structural damage.
- Cervical Radiculopathy: Nerve compression or irritation in the cervical spine can cause sharp, radiating pain down the arm.
- Tension or Stress: Acute muscle tension from stress can lead to pain in the neck area.
